Userful launches a suite of solutions offering managed desktops for the military
Calgary Jan 24, 2007 Userful is proud to announce the availability of our industry leading managed desktop solution, DiscoverStation, for the military. Potential uses include internet cafes, computer based training, mobile computer labs and more.
"Military have amongst the most aggressive security requirements, yet often have to struggle with adapting systems not designed for them," said Tim Griffin, CEO of Userful. "This is not the kind of environment where you want to be deploying a 'personal computer.' Admins can sleep more soundly at night knowing that DiscoverStation, built from the ground up to be a public computer and coupled with Userful's powerful configuration tools, will meet their needs for a secure, configurable public computer."
DiscoverStation is an integrated desktop computing management solution, consisting of a fully managed desktop combined with complete service and support for software and hardware. TCO savings of 50% or more are achieved through the inclusion of Userful's unique Desktop Multiplier technology, which allows a single PC to provide multiple independent workstations for users. Userful customers report that deploying DiscoverStation workstations can save thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours per year on computer desktop management.
"I immediately saw how well this system could serve my customers while reducing deployment and support complexities to an absolute minimum. Userful's approach results in less maintenance on computers, less space required for deployment, a minimized need for network infrastructure, less equipment to secure, and a huge reduction in energy consumption for computers and air conditioning. Add to this the fact that Userful provides all the low level support and you have a complete and nearly maintenance free public computing system," comments the project team leader of an existing military customer for moral workstations.
Come see the Userful team and learn about DiscoverStation and Desktop Multiplier at AFCEA West 2007, Booth 1937, Jan 31st to Feb 2nd.
